Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistants – Guildford and Surrounding Areas

Are you a recent Psychology graduate looking to gain hands‑on experience in education or child development? We’re looking for enthusiastic and empathetic graduates to work as Teaching Assistants across a range of mainstream and SEN schools in Guildford and the surrounding areas.

This is a fantastic opportunity to apply your psychological knowledge in a practical setting while making a real difference in the lives of young people.

About the role :

• Supporting children with special educational needs (SEN), social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH), and behavioural challenges
• Working 1‑to‑1 or in small groups to help pupils engage with learning and develop key life skills
• Assisting teachers and SENCOs in implementing tailored learning and behaviour plans
• Observing and understanding student behaviour through a psychological lens – ideal for those considering careers in educational or clinical psychology
• Helping to create an inclusive, positive classroom environment where every child can thrive

What we’re looking for :

• A degree in Psychology or a related subject
• A passion for working with children and young people
• Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills
• A proactive, patient, and resilient attitude
• Previous experience in schools, youth work, or care settings (desirable but not essential)
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
