Psychology Graduate - Mental Health Support

A new opportunity for a new position has recently become available in an amazing school in Oxford.

This is a fantastic, supportive school who focus on inclusivity and want to ensure that they are providing

They cater for students between the ages of 7 and 18, who have all been identified as struggling with social, emotional and mental health needs. The students at this school also have barriers to their learning such as specific learning needs, ADHD and behavioural needs. They need support to ensure that they are able to access their education and learning in the same way as their mainstream peers.

The school are looking for someone who can help with the below:
  • Create a safe, fun and engaging learning environment
  • Encourage students to participate, focus on and engage in their learning
  • Follow their intervention plans while also making use of any restorative practices and therapeutic techniques that have been adopted to ensure a positive experience at school
  • Promote healthy coping strategies and support conflict resolution
  • Support in tracking and relaying feedback to the class teacher and other multi-disciplinary professionals that support the students
The ideal mental health support assistant will be someone who is:
  • Passionate
  • Has a positive attitude
  • Is keen to make a difference and support vulnerable students
  • Has a good understanding of the importance of safeguarding when working with vulnerable children
  • Has a genuine passion for supporting learning and mental health needs
  • Hold an enhanced DBS certificate or be willing to apply for one
