A government health department in Launceston is seeking a Paediatrics Psychologist to provide evidence-based assessments and consultative advice for children and youth. This part-time role (30.4 hours per fortnight) requires registration with the Psychology Board of Australia and experience in working with vulnerable populations. The Paediatrics Psychologist is part of a larger psychology team supporting both inpatients and outpatient services; we are a small and mighty team with a diverse range of skills who promote work life balance and continuing professional development. CARE (compassion, accountability, respect and excellence) values are integrated in our work processes to improve outcomes for our consumers and support our workforce. The Paediatric psychologist's core work is with Out of Home Care children and youth to improve access to supports by assessment of neurodevelopmental conditions and working closely with other health professionals to facilitate care options.
Provide evidence-based assessments to aid the understanding of the difficulties and strengths a child and young person maybe experiencing to facilitate recommendations regarding support needs.
Provide consultative advice to carers and staff regarding; trauma informed care, childhood developmental disorders and how best to support children and youth.
Provide time limited therapeutic supports during the assessment phase to children and young person.

Fixed term part time, day worker position, working 30.4 hours per fortnight, 8 January 2026 until 31 December 2026.
*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

$110,425 to $121,907 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
