Job summary

Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust in Bradford seeks a Psychological Lead Therapist for the Perinatal Team to deliver high-quality psychological therapy, including parent-infant interventions, across homes, clinics, and telemedicine.

The role requires autonomous clinical decision making, leadership, and participation in service development; you will train staff and support perinatal mental health, strengthening parent-infant relationships and care planning.

Qualifications

• Doctorate level training in clinical psychology with expertise in psychopathology, psychometrics, two or more distinct therapies, and lifespan development.
• Specialist postgraduate training to masters level or equivalent in a psychotherapeutic modality with mental health experience and accreditation routes (BABCP/BACP/UKCP).
• Experience of providing dyadic therapy to parents and infants.

Main duties of the job

Person Specification

Qualifications

• Doctorate level training in clinical or applied psychology, including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical, psychometrics, two or more distinct psychological therapies and lifespan developmental psychology as accredited by the BPS, or a BPS Statement of Equivalence. AND Experienced of providing therapy in a mental health setting.
• OR Specialist post graduate training to masters level or equivalent in a psychotherapeutic modality AND Experience of providing therapy in a mental health setting AND Accreditation from a recognised Psychological Therapy body ie. BABCP, BACP, UKCP via: (a) Professional route; requiring previous mental health qualification e.g. Clin. Psych., RMN, Dip. SW. or (b) where applicable, the KSA (knowledge, skills and attitude) route (e.g. with the BABCP).
• Experience of providing dyadic therapy to parents and infants

Experience

• Experience in relevant area of mental health practise.
• Application of minimum of 2 years delivering evidence based psychological therapies relevant to the clinical service
• Clinical leadership experience.
• Involvement in innovative clinical practice. Experience delivering psychological therapies to groups of patients. Experience in applying specialist psychological therapies. Experience of delivering psychological therapies to people with psychosis (CBTp/ FI)

Knowledge

• Evidence based psychological therapies relevant to the clinical service. Relevant specialist clinical courses/training. Research awareness Some understanding of the importance of the parent-infant relationship.
• Involvement in clinical research programmes
