Job summary

Arriva is seeking a PSV Master Technician to join the Midlands Engineering Team across multiple depots. You will diagnose and resolve complex faults on modern PSV fleets, perform advanced repairs, and overhauls to manufacturer and company standards.

You will mentor technicians, maintain accurate records, and support ongoing improvements while ensuring DVSA compliance and safety across the fleet. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Extensive experience in PSV diagnostics, fault finding and repairs.
• DVSA compliance and vehicle roadworthiness knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve complex faults on PSV fleets.
• Carry out advanced repairs, component replacements, and overhauls.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to technicians and apprentices.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure procedures are followed.
• Support continuous improvement and health & safety compliance.

Working across multiple Midlands depots, you'll provide technical expertise that helps keep our fleet safe, reliable, and available for service.What You'll Be DoingDiagnosing and resolving complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic faults on modern PSV fleets.Carrying out advanced repairs, component replacements, and vehicle overhauls to manufacturer and company standards.Supporting engineering teams with specialist technical investigations and fault resolution.Performing preventative maintenance inspections and identifying opportunities to improve fleet reliability.Using advanced diagnostic software and equipment to analyse and rectify vehicle defects.Providing technical guidance and mentoring to technicians and apprentices.Maintaining accurate maintenance records and ensuring compliance with all engineering procedures.Supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the engineering function.Ensuring full compliance with health and safety requirements and DVSA regulations.What We're Looking ForProven experience as a PSV Master Technician, Senior Technician, or equivalent heavy vehicle engineering role.NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent recognised qualification).Advanced knowledge of PSV systems, diagnostics, electrical systems, engines, transmissions, and braking systems.Experience using modern diagnostic equipment and software.Strong understanding of DVSA compliance and vehicle roadworthiness requirements.Excellent fault-finding, problem-solving, and communication skills.Full UK driving licence (PCV licence advantageous).Willingness to travel across Midlands depots as required.What We OfferCompetitive salary package.Company van.Pension scheme.Ongoing technical training and development.Career progression opportunities within one of the UK's largest passenger transport operators.A supportive and collaborative engineering environment.Join Arriva and help us keep our communities moving safely and reliably every day.Apply today to become part of our Midlands Engineering Team.INDBM
