Job summary

HATS Group is seeking a PSV bus driver to operate passenger-carrying vehicles across its network, ensuring safe, timely and courteous journeys. You will perform pre-trip checks, uphold PPE rules, and maintain a high standard of passenger service in a demanding outdoor environment.

Requirements include a valid UK PCV/PSV licence, up-to-date CPC, and DCPC training. You will work under structured schedules, report incidents promptly, and participate in safety briefings and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Valid UK PCV/PSV licence and CPC qualification.
• Penalties: no more than 6 points and up-to-date medicals.
• Proven ability to work in English and in the UK legally.
• Provide references and prove identity for right to work.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and wellbeing of clients throughout the journey.
• Carry out vehicle checks and safety walk round before service.
• Maintain PPE compliance in vehicle movement areas.
• Observe speed limits in depots and school premises.
• Report defects promptly and complete defect logs if required.
• Keep the cab clean and tidy and drive to the timetable.
• Provide high standard customer service and information to passengers.
• Comply with laws, policies and CPC/DCPC requirements.
• Attend safety briefings and participate in annual DCPC training.
• Report incidents and participate in safety and evacuation planning.

Skills

Valid UK driving licence

No more than 6 penalty points

English language skills

Professional driving experience

Ability to drive safely

CPC card

Education

Basic secondary education or equivalent

Willingness to undertake NVQ training
