Job summary

4Recruitment Services Ltd in Braintree, Essex is seeking a Private Rented Sector Officer on a 3‑month contract. You will proactively identify suitable PRS properties, develop strong relationships with landlords and letting agents, and support residents through move‑in and tenancy processes.

You will ensure compliance with housing legislation and collaborate with Housing Services to achieve positive tenancy outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience working in housing, homelessness prevention or tenancy management.
• Experience building relationships with landlords and letting agents.
• Knowledge of Private Rented Sector and housing options.

Responsibilities

• Property Procurement: identify suitable PRS properties.
• Negotiate tenancy terms with landlords and agents.
• Manage a caseload of households seeking accommodation through PRS.
• Provide advice on private renting, tenancy responsibilities and housing options.
• Support move-in arrangements and ensure all paperwork is completed.
• Attend meetings with landlords, residents and partners.
• Performance and Compliance: monitor placements and outcomes.
• Ensure activities comply with housing legislation and procedures.
