Job summary

Reevr is seeking a hands-on Prototype Mechanical Fitter on a contract basis to support development and build of specialist machinery. You will work with machining, fabrication, assembly and mechanical problem-solving, turning ideas into working prototypes.

This role involves close collaboration with the engineering team to develop and improve new equipment. This six-month contract offers an immediate start with potential extension or permanent opportunity for the right candidate, with emphasis

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on mechanical engineering experience.
• Machining, fabrication and mechanical assembly skills.
• Experience working within a machinery or equipment-building environment.
• The ability to interpret engineering drawings.
• A practical, solutions-focused approach.
• Experience with food-processing or packaging machinery would be advantageous.
• Knowledge of hygienic design and hygienic welding principles would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Building and developing prototype machinery and mechanical assemblies.
• Machining and fabricating components.
• Assembling, modifying and testing mechanical parts.
• Producing practical solutions to design and build challenges.
• Supporting mechanical maintenance and fault-finding when required.
• Working with hygienic stainless-steel fabrications and welded assemblies.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of prototype designs.
