About the team

Join our successful Revenue Protection & Prosecutions Department – the team that plays a vital role in protecting revenue, preventing fraud, and maintaining the reputation of Great Western Railway. We're the team who make sure sanctions are conducted fairly, legally, and deadlines are met with absolute precision.

About the role

Accuracy, organisation, and data management are at the heart of this role. As a Prosecutions Administration Officer, you\'ll:

  • Log and track revenue protection sanctions using case management systems.
  • Maintain case records with the highest accuracy.
  • Calculate fares and revenue losses arising from fare evasion.
  • Communicate professionally with members of the public both in writing and over the phone.
  • Process payments and appeals.
  • Support the smooth running of the department with wider admin duties.

What we\'re looking for

We\'re looking for someone who thrives on detail, deadlines, and clear communication. To succeed in this role, you must bring:

  • Strong Excel skills, essential for handling and tracking data accurately.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Proven experience working in a team and meeting tight deadlines.
  • You\'ll have an eye for detail.
  • Knowledge of GWR revenue protection processes, plus awareness of the Penalty Fare Regulations 2018 and Regulation of Railways Act 1889, is an advantage.
Location & working pattern
  • You\'ll be based in Reading around 1 in every 8 working days (9:00–16:30).
  • The rest of the time, you\'ll have the flexibility to work remotely, depending on the tasks at hand.
  • Reading is well connected by GWR and other rail networks, making commuting straightforward.
