Proposals Engineer | Up to £45k | Lowestoft/Hybrid | Oil & Gas

We are working with an international client seeking a Proposals Engineer to support their commercial team in securing new work across global offshore and marine construction markets.

The Opportunity

This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact within global offshore and marine construction markets. As a Proposals Engineer, you will take responsibility for the full proposals process, from reviewing client requirements to producing high quality technical and commercial submissions. You will work closely with internal teams and clients, develop strong commercial understanding, and contribute to the growth of the organisation. This position suits someone who enjoys combining technical knowledge, commercial thinking, problem solving, and client interaction in a fast paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full proposal process from RFQ receipt to contract award, following internal workflows.
• Review RFQ packages, arrange internal kick-off meetings, and request client clarifications when required.
• Interpret drawings and technical documents to complete material take-offs and populate cost tools.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and quotations, working closely with Supply Chain and internal teams.
• Compile complete technical and commercial proposal packages by coordinating cross-department inputs.
• Communicate proactively with clients, maintain strong relationships and managing expectations.
• Prioritise incoming enquiries and ensure timely responses.
• Record bid status and updates in internal systems and hand over successful bids to Finance and Project Management.

About you

• Minimum of three years' experience in a similar proposal, engineering, offshore, or construction role.
• Strong technical and commercial understanding.
• Degree (or equivalent experience) in a relevant technical field.
• Confident communicator and presenter.
• Methodical, detail-focused, and capable of managing multiple deadlines.
• Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills; knowledge of Microsoft Project is an advantage.
