Post Title: Property Surveyor (Building Services)

Location: Inverness

Hours: 35 hours per week

Duration: Permanent

Salary: £42,879 - £46,410 p.a.

Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

Job Purpose

To undertake a programme of condition and suitability surveys of the mechanical and electrical building services of the Council's property portfolio to provide a uniform and objective basis for obtaining detailed information on the current state of council's premises and allow for strategic forecasting of lifecycle maintenance work required.

To assess the condition and suitability of council buildings and facilities, ensuring they meet safety, health, and regulatory standards. This role involves conducting detailed surveys in accordance with Scottish Government requirements, reporting on the condition of structures, and recommending necessary repairs and maintenance to support the effective operation of council facilities.

To assist in the management of the Council's General Fund property estate and to contribute to the development of strategic policies and procedures.

Requirements
  • Degree or diploma in a relevant professional subject matter.
  • Membership with a recognized professional body such as CIBSE (Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers) or equivalent is preferred (for the Building Services position).

  • Access to personal transport and a commitment to travel across the Council's area regularly.
