Job summary

A public sector client based in County Durham is seeking a Property Surveyor to join their Strategic Property Management team. This full-time temporary position involves managing estate activities, negotiating property matters, and ensuring compliance with various regulations. Ideal candidates will have a degree in a relevant subject and MRICS membership, alongside significant estate management experience. Offering competitive pay of £28 per hour inside IR35.

Job Description

A client within the Public Sector based in County Durham is currently recruiting for a Property Surveyor to join their Strategic Property Management team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full-time, temporary position on an ongoing basis, with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a property management environment.

The Role Key purpose of the role :

To support the delivery of the Council’s Property Management service, ensuring efficient management, use and occupation of the estate. You will assist in identifying opportunities for rationalisation or disposal and proactively manage the Council’s property portfolio, including acquisitions, disposals, valuations and lease management.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to :
  • Managing a varied and continuous caseload relating to estate management activities

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require :
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent in a property or relevant subject
  • Full Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) (for Grade 12 consideration)
  • Significant experience in estate management, including valuation, acquisitions, disposals and leasing
The below skills would be beneficial for the role :
  • Strong negotiating, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of local government and strategic asset management
  • Good communication, presentation and report writing skills

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such is offering £28 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £22 per hour PAYE).
