You will oversee both in-house teams and external contractors to ensure all mechanical and electrical works are delivered to the highest standard, on time, and in line with regulatory requirements.

The Role

As a Property M&E Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the installation, maintenance, and servicing of mechanical and electrical systems across multiple properties. You will work closely with contractors, internal teams, and the Maintenance & Installations Manager to ensure all works are completed efficiently, safely, and to specification.

This is a varied role involving reporting, planning, certification oversight, problem-solving, and hands‑on technical support when needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and carry out installation and maintenance of M&E systems across all properties.
  • Work with subcontracted maintenance teams to plan and manage annual maintenance schedules.
  • Produce weekly and monthly reports on work completed.
  • Assist with developing maintenance software to record and track all programs and tasks.
  • Liaise with departments to arrange and schedule works across properties.
  • Verify that all gas and electrical certification meets current Gas Safe and BS7671 standards.
  • Act as the first point of contact for day‑to‑day queries on equipment, materials, and procedures.
  • Approve and place orders for parts, equipment, and contracted works.
  • Maintain inventory of replacement parts and backup equipment.
  • Respond to emergencies or unusual situations, even when outside normal trade scope.
  • Provide cover for colleagues and participate in an out‑of‑hours and weekend standby rota.
  • Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
  • Complete any additional tasks as requested within the scope of the role.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven practical experience in building maintenance and mechanical installations, including AHUs, FCUs, and electrical installations up to 400 v.
  • C&G or NVQ qualifications in M&E disciplines, including BS7671 C&G 18th Edition.
  • Strong working knowledge of motors (star/delta, DOL, VSD), plumbing, and heating systems.
  • Understanding of vented and unvented systems, and commercial catering gas safety.
  • Knowledge of HSWA regulations and relevant building codes.
  • Ability to produce clear written reports, plans, and operational procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Proven supervisory experience with strong mechanical expertise.
What We Offer
  • A professional, supportive working environment.
  • Opportunities for development and progression within the property team.
  • The chance to work across a diverse range of estates and facilities.
