A leading South Wales law firm is seeking a skilled Property & Contentious Probate Solicitor to manage a caseload of property disputes and probate matters. The ideal candidate will have over 3 years of experience in property litigation and contentious probate, showcasing strong drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years post-qualification experience in property litigation and contentious probate.
  • Strong knowledge of landlord/tenant law and TOLATA claims.
  • Ability to manage own caseload and meet billing targets.

Property & Contentious Probate Solicitor - Newport

Leading South Wales law firm are looking for a skilled solicitor to manage a varied caseload of property disputes and contentious probate matters. You'll advise landlords, tenants, executors, and beneficiaries on everything from lease issues and unlawful evictions to inheritance conflicts and boundary claims.

You’ll handle complex litigation, draft and negotiate tenancy agreements, represent clients in proceedings, and provide strategic legal advice with clarity and confidence.

What you’ll bring:

  • Qualified Solicitor (3+ years PQE) with solid experience in property litigation and contentious probate
  • Strong knowledge of landlord/tenant law, TOLATA claims, adverse possession, and lease forfeiture
  • Excellent drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage your own caseload and meet billing targets
  • Commercial awareness and a client‑focused approach
  • Strong communication, organisation and time management skills
  • Experience using case management and time recording systems
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently
