Sanctuary Supported Living is recruiting a Project Worker for our Mental Health Service, Bal Edmund Upper Church, Hastings. We specialise in delivering personalised housing, care, and support services to help people across England live as independently as possible. We are a national not-for-profit organisation focused on putting customers at the heart of what we do and supporting their pathways to independence.

Responsibilities
  • Providing support to encourage customers with mental health needs to maximise their own potential and independence
  • Supporting progress towards independence in managing positive mental health
  • Offering one-to-one support as required
  • Promoting safety by undertaking risk assessments and reviewing customers’ needs
  • Regularly assessing the needs of customers, writing and updating support plans
  • Developing professional relationships with customers, using clear communication to ensure personal choice, privacy and dignity is maintained
  • Delivery of small group activities to promote recovery and well-being
Skills and experience
  • Previous experience of working with adults with mental health needs
  • The ability to relate and empathise with people with mental health issues
  • You may have lived experience of using mental health services and will have the knowledge to support people in crisis
  • Ability to work effectively in highly pressured situations
  • Experience with developing and maintaining accurate records and support plans
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft packages and internet communications
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or willingness to work towards is desirable
