Overview

Torbay Domestic Abuse Service (TDAS) is recruiting for a Project Worker in Paignton, Devon. Sanctuary Supported Living is a not-for-profit national organisation delivering personalised housing, care, and support services.

We’re committed to helping customers live as independently as possible and supporting colleagues through comprehensive training and benefits. The role offers 18.5 hours per week at £13.34 per hour.

Responsibilities
  • Providing support to encourage young people to maximise their own potential and independence
  • Provide high-quality person-centred support to enable and empower customers to develop the skills necessary for independent living within legislative, regulatory requirements and best practice
  • Establish professional relationships with all customers, using appropriate and clear communication to promote independence through developing daily living skills and social engagement, ensuring that customers maintain personal choice, privacy, and dignity
  • Assist customers in understanding and planning their support package, focussing on positive outcomes to maximise customers potential and enable them to exercise choice and control
  • Provide advocacy to support customers and their families when required
  • Liaise with relevant external agencies to ensure the maximum support is delivered to enable customers to access and maintain a level of integration within the wider community
  • Manage the implementation of safeguarding principles and responsibilities to ensure the safety of customers and to avoid potential risk to stakeholders and the business
  • Promote safe practices and undertake risk assessments within legislative frameworks and business protocols, escalating issues as appropriate
  • Contribute, as appropriate, to special programmes and projects in support of the Group's values and objectives
Skills and experiences
  • Experience of working with vulnerable children and young adults
  • Proven knowledge of key needs and services for relevant customer group
  • Some knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Good understanding of written and spoken English
  • Good interpersonal and customer care skills
  • Ability to demonstrate a positive and accepting approach to customers whatever their needs
  • Ability to keep accurate records and clearly communicate relevant information
  • Ability to make accurate simple calculations

  • Driving License and access to your own Vehicle
