Qualifications

The Position: Project Support Officer

This is a Project Support Officer position, working in a transverse role supporting several project managers to support delivery of the HPC Project engineering contract, in accordance with contract terms and conditions and in line with the overall Project schedule.

The primary responsibility of the role of the Project Support Officer is to support the Responsible Designer (RD) Contract Project Managers to successfully manage the RD Contract and ensure that the engineering is delivered safely to cost, schedule and quality, and in line with the and conditions of the Contract.

Main Responsibilities
  • To develop and maintain effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, coordinating their input to achieve project objectives
  • Assist the delivery of the contract and associated activities to enable them to be achieved safely, on time, to budget, meeting business & technical requirements
  • Monitor and manage the client governance processes - track progress against milestones, deadlines, budget
  • Coordination and recording meetings, production of project documentation, producing reports and providing supporting guidance
  • Anticipate, manage and resolve issues within the contract, effectively use escalation routes when necessary
Preferred Profile
  • Previous experience in Project Management or Project Engineering on large or complex engineering or construction projects is desirable
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Coordination skills and leadership
  • Decision making and escalation ability for resolution of issues
  • Budget and commercial awareness
  • Ability to learn quickly and demonstrate evidence of using a ‘problem-solving’ approach
  • Ability to build strong working relationships with and effectively manage internal and external stakeholders

Many of our UK projects require high-level security clearance, meaning we can often only consider candidates with an existing, indefinite right to work in the UK. Exceptionally, we may consider visa sponsorship for applicants with niche experience aligned to our core work (e.g. EPR/nuclear new build).
