Job description
About Us

Hull City Council established its Building Safety Team in 2024 in response to significant legislation, including the Building Safety Act and the Fire Safety England Regulations, following the Grenfell Tower tragedy. Our team is responsible for ensuring building safety in multi‑occupancy dwellings across the city, which includes overseeing 19 high‑rise buildings, 7 medium‑rise buildings, and 445 low‑rise blocks.

We collaborate closely with the Housing Investment Team, which manages and delivers responsive and cyclical maintenance, specialist compliance works, planned improvement projects, and refurbishment schemes for a stock of 24,000 domestic properties. In addition, we work together with the High‑Rise Tenancy and Facilities Management teams.
