A leading recruitment agency is seeking Project Support Engineers to join a team at Heathrow Airport, focusing on telecommunications and security installations. The successful candidates will oversee critical systems installations and assistance with project documentation, requiring strong communication skills and experience in telecoms or security systems. This is a hands-on role with a competitive rate of £36 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in telecoms, structured cabling or security systems installation construction projects.
  • Experience of working closely with service providers and contractors.
  • Experience with LAN, CCTV, Access Control Systems, Structured cabling and Data networks installation.
  • Must be IT literate.
  • You will be required to either currently hold or be willing to get an Airside Pass which requires security vetting.

Start Date: ASAP | Duration: 12 months +
Rate: CIRCA £36 per hour (£270 per day) Inside IR35 Umbrella PAYE
Hours: 37.5 per week

We are seeking Project Support Engineers to join a Telecommunications and Security installations team based at Heathrow Airport. This is a hands‑on, site‑based role supporting and overseeing a range of critical systems installations and diversions/re‑locations/enabling works including CCTV, Access Control, Public Address Systems, ANPR, Passenger information systems and all related telecommunications and data network cabling installations. You will assist in carrying out surveys of site works, producing detailed survey reports together with assisting Designers, Project Management and Construction teams in offering advice on best way to carry out the installation works in a Construction environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Comms/Security systems installation projects across Heathrow Airport estate.
  • Maintain project documentation and databases.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Produce reports and manage project folders.
  • Ensure smooth handover of completed projects.
  • Liaise with planning supervisors, construction managers, and airport clients.
  • Assist in scope definition, timeline planning, and work pack creation.
  • Deliver accurate 'as built' documentation for ongoing support.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven experience in telecoms, structured cabling or security systems installation construction projects.
  • Experience of working closely with comms, electrical installation service providers and contractors.
  • Experience with LAN, CCTV, Access Control Systems, Structured cabling and Data networks installation.
  • Educated to City & Guilds or HNC standard.
  • Hold CSCS/SSSTS, ideally Airside Pass (not essential)
  • Preferably you will have worked either Airport comms systems projects in the past or other transferable industries such as Rail Stations, Power Installations, MOD installations or other highly regulated industries
  • Must be IT literate.
  • You will be required to either currently hold or be willing to get an Airside Pass which will require security vetting.
