Job summary

AtkinsRéalis UK Limited is seeking an Assistant Project Manager / Project Support Officer to join our Northeast P3M team. The role focuses on administrative and coordination tasks to support project delivery across infrastructure, transportation, defence, energy and public sector projects.

You will develop key project management skills through mentoring, training, and opportunities to pursue professional qualifications with organisations such as the APM. Hybrid working arrangements are available.

Responsibilities

  • Provide admin and coordination support to project teams.
  • Assist with planning, scheduling and milestone tracking.
  • Support project reporting, governance and monitoring.
  • Prepare meeting materials and maintain records.
  • Coordinate stakeholders and communications across teams.
  • Assist with risk, issue and change activities.
  • Support financial tracking and resource planning.

Become a vital member of our growing Northeast Project, Programme and Portfolio Management (P3M) team. Your role

As an Assistant Project Manager / Project Support Officer, you will support the successful delivery of projects and programmes by:

  • Providing administrative and coordination support to project and programme teams.
  • Assisting with planning activities, schedules, actions and milestone tracking.
  • Supporting project reporting, governance and performance monitoring.
  • Preparing meeting materials, recording actions and tracking progress.
  • Maintaining project documentation, registers and records.
  • Coordinating stakeholders and supporting effective communication across teams.
  • Assisting with risk, issue and change management activities.
  • Supporting financial tracking, resource planning and project controls activities.
  • Helping identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Working collaboratively with clients, colleagues and wider project teams.
  • Developing your project management knowledge and professional skills through mentoring and formal training.

You do not need extensive project experience to be successful in this role.

  • Membership of, or interest in joining, a professional body such as the APM.
  • Experience working with data, reporting or business processes.
