Job description

Project Support Administrator – Environment
Location – Plymouth

A career development opportunity has arisen for a Project Support Administrator to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business. You will work on our South West Water Frameworks within the Asset Maintenance division of our Environment Business, who are experienced in successfully delivering schemes of varying sizes, predominately to the Water Industry, across both Clean and Waste Water schemes. Ideally you will be based in or around the Plymouth area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region (Devon and Cornwall).

Purpose of the Role

As the Project Support Administrator you will work closely with the Project Managers and Site Teams as high level administration support. We are looking for a strong administrator who has experience working in conjunction with busy teams with tight deadlines. You will contribute to the successful delivery Capital Maintenance projects on the South West Water Framework.

Key Responsibilities
  • Handle administrative requests and queries from Senior Managers
  • Input data onto internal system such as viewpoint and Document Control
  • Support the Project teams with Project Close Down
  • Creation of site Folders for the site-based project teams
  • Book meetings for site-wide operations
  • Point of contact for the regional office
  • Support site documents on our Viewpoint, OneDrive portals, and maintain these platforms
  • Provide general support to site visitors
  • Act as a point of contact for staff and visitors
  • General office duties, including raising requisitions
  • Document control for all projects
  • Support our operational teams
  • Collate reports for meetings
Experience and Qualifications
  • Literate and numerate with proficiency using Microsoft products (Word, Excel, etc.) and other office applications including PDF editor
  • Good organisational skills and time management
  • Demonstrable knowledge of operating office equipment and IT systems
  • Successful experience of working in a general administration support role

  • Excellent Interpersonal skills including verbal and oral communication
  • Assess information within normal areas of responsibility; question evidence and findings in order to highlight and communicate issues
  • Demonstrate a rational approach to decision making, assessing data within laid down guidelines; Discuss problems / issues and suggest possible solutions
  • Be willing and have the desire to improve on current situations. The capacity to review actions and to identify and communicate efficiency / process improvements
  • Ability to take notes/minutes that are both legible and structured
  • Good time management, scheduling skills including prioritisation and document control
  • Able to work under pressure
