Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is recruiting a Project/Senior Architect for our Cardiff team, part of the Midlands, South-West and Wales Architectural Practice. We offer design excellence through collaboration across architecture, engineering and specialist consultants, with a focus on education, commercial, energy, defence and residential sectors.

You will take ownership of projects, drive innovative design concepts, and mentor staff within a multi-discipline environment while contributing to the studio's design

OverviewAtkinsRéalis are looking to recruit an innovative and experienced Project or Senior Architect to join our growing Cardiff team, as part of the wider Midlands, South-West and Wales Architectural Practice.

As a fully integrated multidisciplinary practice you will be working alongside Architectural, Engineering and specialist consultants across a myriad of fields. Within the Midlands, South-West and Wales business, we have just under 500 individuals involved in the design and creation of the built environment in Education, Commercial, Energy, Defence and Residential sectors. Our Architectural staff include Architects, Architectural Technologists, Interior Designers, Landscape Architects and Building Surveying professionals with a balanced mix of graduates through to senior professionals and directors. People are the heart of our success and supporting, training, and mentoring our staff is paramount to AtkinsRéalis remaining at the forefront of design and innovation.

Your role

About You

• To develop designs that are firmly rooted with a strong narrative that seek to enhance the built environment and our reputation.
• A creative designer with an understanding of technical delivery.
• Contribute to design and culture within the studio and wider regional team.
• Consistently contribute and lead the successful delivery of projects with varying levels of complexity and ranging in size from small, medium and large-scale.
• Work proactively within a multi- disciplined environment to lead the design off major opportunities.
• Understand the design process and RIBA Plan of Work, having the ability to deliver a project from concept, detail design, delivery on site and through to completion.
• They will be able to produce, analyse and advise upon material selection, specification and detailed design solutions in relation to performance and production criteria.
• Proficiently use Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, NBS Specification and have experience in advanced collaboration software (such as Navisworks). The candidate will also have an understanding of and be able to manage information such as federation of BIM models, model checking, clash and interface management.
• Practical working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or other similar software package.
• The personal qualities required from the applying candidate are: strong interpersonal skills, organisation and efficient time management, attention to detail, ability to work independently and effectively when under pressure and to tight deadlines. The candidate must be self-motivated and flexible, bringing a positive and 'can-do' attitude, and the willingness to be a strong team player.
