A leading energy company is seeking a Project Safety Specialist based in Peterborough, responsible for ensuring the safety and compliance of construction projects across the East region of the UK. This role includes advising on CDM Regulations, conducting site audits, and fostering a strong safety culture. Ideal candidates will have NEBOSH qualifications and extensive experience in construction safety. Project Safety Specialist
£53,500 to £62,500 plus up to 6% bonus, and company car
Based in the East region, with Peterborough as the central hub
As this role covers the East region of the UK, we’re looking for someone who is based within this area. You’ll need to travel to our central hub in Peterborough and other operational sites across the East region, a minimum of 3 days a week.

As Project Safety Specialist for the East Region, you’ll provide expert support and assurance to ensure the safe, compliant, and responsible delivery of construction projects across National Gas Transmission’s assets. Working closely with project, operational, and engineering teams, you’ll champion a strong safety culture, drive continual improvement, and embed SHE excellence in all aspects of day‑to‑day operations.
You’ll be passionate about safety leadership and confident in influencing behaviours across diverse teams and contractors. You’ll bring strong technical knowledge of construction safety and CDM compliance, combined with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills to promote a positive safety culture.
