Project: Commercial to Residential Conversion (115 Apartments)

Duration: Initial 1.5-year project

Structivus is working with a growing main contractor looking to recruit an experienced Project Quantity Surveyor for an exciting long-term development in Angel, Islington. The project involves the high-quality conversion of a commercial building into 115 modern apartments, offering an excellent opportunity to take ownership of a flagship scheme from early stages through to completion.

Role Overview

As the Project Quantity Surveyor, you'll be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of the project, ensuring cost control, value optimisation, and contractual compliance throughout. You'll work closely with the project team to deliver a successful build to budget and programme.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee all commercial and financial aspects of the project
  • Manage subcontractor procurement, tendering, and valuations
  • Prepare and review cost reports, forecasts, and budgets
  • Ensure contract compliance and manage any variations or claims
  • Work collaboratively with the site and project teams to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Report regularly to the Commercial Manager on financial performance
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on residential or mixed-use projects
  • Experience working for a main contractor or on refurbishment schemes is desireable
  • Strong understanding of JCT contracts
  • Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
  • Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or related field (preferred)
  • 5 years + experience
