Project Procurement Manager – Renewables

Leap29 are recruiting for a ProjectProcurement Manager for a company who focus on Solar, BESS and Onshore Wind. You will be a key member of the procurement team, overseeing the sourcing, purchasing and supply of critical components across multiple renewable energy technologies during the development and construction phases IPP projects. Experience in Project Procurement (from Tender phase until signature of the Contract (contract management during project execution is a plus)

The role will be responsible for ensuring that procurement activities support project financial objectives, technical requirements and delivery schedules. Working closely with internal teams, suppliers and external stakeholders, the Procurement Manager will help secure the right products and services at the right cost, quality and time, supporting compliance, reliability and project profitability.

The role also provides an excellent opportunity to develop and strengthen procurement and EPC expertise across multiple jurisdictions, supporting the organisation's ambition to build and operate a global portfolio of renewable energy assets.

The position will be based in London, working from our headquarters in Paddington. Field visits and occasional international travel may be required to meet suppliers, attend industry exhibitions and collaborate with external project teams.

Key Responsibilities
Tendering, Negotiation and Document Control
  • Support the preparation and management of procurement and tender documentation.
  • Lead the negotiation and closing of procurement contracts, working closely with Legal, Technical and Construction teams.
  • Manage project procurement documentation, including reports, protocols, technical specifications and related records.
  • Ensure procurement processes are conducted efficiently, transparently and in accordance with project requirements.
Stakeholder Collaboration and Market Analysis
  • Support effective communication and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring all parties remain informed and aligned.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, contractors and other key stakeholders.
  • Conduct market and competitive analysis to identify market trends, potential suppliers and opportunities for procurement optimisation.
  • Provide market intelligence and recommendations to support strategic procurement decisions.
Risk Management and Optimisation
  • Identify and assess risks relating to supply availability, lead times, delays, pricing and market conditions.
  • Develop and implement appropriate mitigation strategies to minimise procurement and project risks.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise procurement solutions, reduce project costs and improve overall project performance.Monitor relevant regulatory, policy and market developments and assess their impact on procurement activities.
  • Support the delivery of procurement strategies that preserve and enhance project returns.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Education and Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or a related discipline.
  • A qualification or academic background in renewable energy, energy technology or a related field would be advantageous.
Professional Experience
  • 7+ years' experience in procurement, supply chain, purchasing or logistics within the renewable energy sector.
  • Strong experience across renewable energy technologies, ideally including solar PV andBESS; experience in onshore wind would also be advantageous.
  • Project Finance experience for procurement
  • Proven track record of delivering cost reductions and improving supply lead times on large-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Experience working across solar, onshore wind, BESS or hybrid renewable energy projects.
  • Experience operating across multiple jurisdictions or international supply markets would be beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of the commercial, technical and delivery considerations associated with renewable energy procurement.
