Job summary

CMR is seeking a Senior Planner in London to join our hybrid team. You will develop robust construction schedules, define bases of estimate, and work with Cost and Risk teams to align projections.

You will coordinate with stakeholders, validate estimates using benchmarks and BIM where available, and support major infrastructure projects across the UK while contributing to continuous improvement and digital project controls.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years planning experience on construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6.
  • Knowledge of Civils, M&E, Utilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Excellent communication skills in English with clear presentation ability.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the schedule estimates for construction works ensuring they are robust, realistic and practicable.
  • Define the Basis of Estimate for the construction schedule scope (including key assumptions and exclusions).
  • Close integration with Cost and Risk teams to align estimates and assumptions.
  • Work with Risk team to support the QSRA process.
  • Identify and manage internal/external interfaces including procurement and permits.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders to secure buy-in to the project schedule.
  • Ensure schedule estimates are validated using benchmark data and BIM where available.

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join our dynamic award winning team. You’ll
  • Develop the schedule estimates for construction works ensuring they are robust, realistic and practicable.
  • Define the Basis of Estimate for the construction schedule scope (including key assumptions and exclusions)
  • Close integration with both the Cost and Risk Management teams to ensure alignment of all estimates and assumptions.
  • Work with the Risk team to support the QSRA process.
  • Identify and manage key internal and external interfaces including, procurement, consents, dependent projects, etc
  • Work closely with key internal/external stakeholders ensuring buy-in to the project schedule.
  • Ensure schedule estimates are validated using benchmark data, and design information (BIM) where available.
We’re looking for:
Essential
  • 5+ years planning experience working on a variety of construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6
  • Knowledge and experience in elements of construction (e.g. Civils, M&E, Utilities, etc).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
  • Experience working on major construction and infrastructure projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, including English language and visual presentations (e.g. PowerPoint), with the ability to analyse and present information clearly and persuasively.
Desirable
  • Knowledge and experience working with BIM, parametric estimating and 4D planning
  • Qualified to degree level, would be advantageous as would having formal project management qualifications such as APM or PRINCE2
  • Knowledge of procurement processes and forms of contracts (NEC, JCT, FIDIC)
  • Membership of a professional body, APM, ICE, CIOB

Requirements and Location
  • Full right to work in the UK
  • Working from home and 3 days in London - Euston
  • Occasional travel to project sites outside of London
