Kenect Recruitment is working in partnership with a well-established client in the construction and engineering sector to recruit an experienced Project Planner.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and maintain detailed and accurate project schedules using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, ensuring alignment with contractual obligations and regulatory standards.
 
- Coordinate and optimise labour, plant, and materials across the project lifecycle to drive efficiency and meet programme targets.
 
- Monitor performance against baseline schedules, identify and elevate delays or risks, and prepare clear and actionable progress reports, recovery plans, and Earned Value analyses for stakeholders.
 
- Work collaboratively with internal and external teams—including design, commercial, construction, and subcontractors—to ensure all programmes are realistic, integrated, and achievable.
 
- Assess the impact of design changes or scope adjustments on project timelines, perform time-risk analyses, and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
 
- Ensure planning and scheduling activities comply with NEC contracts, company procedures, and industry best practice.
 
- Use Primavera P6 and MS Project to manage dependencies, critical path activities, cost/resource loading, and generate accurate reports.
 
- Contribute to the preparation of tender programmes and associated planning documentation to support successful bid submissions.
 
Essential Criteria
- Degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline.
 
- Proven experience in a project planning role within the construction or engineering sectors.
 
- Strong working knowledge of the full project lifecycle, from initial design to final delivery and commissioning.
 
- Proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project, with the ability to manage complex, multi-phase schedules.
 
- Demonstrable experience managing multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.li>
 - Familiarity with NEC, FIDIC, or CECA contract mechanisms is desirable.
 
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to stakeholder engagement.
 
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive mindset.
