Job description

Due to increasing demand within our client’s projects, we are seeking Project Planners to support critical energy transition programmes across the UK. You’ll join a collaborative and high‑performing team delivering complex, high‑value infrastructure and energy projects in Aberdeen, Glasgow, and Stockton‑on‑Tees.

Each location presents a unique opportunity to shape the future of the UK energy landscape, whether through decarbonising traditional assets, supporting national net zero initiatives, or enabling the development of renewable power networks.

As a Planner, you’ll play a central role in developing and managing integrated schedules, identifying key risks, and driving performance insights that enable successful project delivery.

About the Roles by Location:
Aberdeen – Energy Transition (Oil & Gas to New Energies)

Support the planning and scheduling of large‑scale brownfield modification and decommissioning programmes as part of a major energy transition portfolio. Work closely with engineering and offshore delivery teams to integrate schedule data and support decarbonisation initiatives in the North Sea.

Stockton‑on‑Tees – National Net Zero Infrastructure

Be part of a multi‑billion‑pound net zero programme, delivering essential new‑build infrastructure focused on hydrogen, carbon capture, and future fuels. You’ll lead planning activities on highly regulated, multidisciplinary projects that are pivotal to the UK’s low‑carbon strategy.

Glasgow – Renewable Energy & Grid Modernisation

Contribute to large‑scale clean energy developments and the modernisation of energy transmission and distribution networks. You’ll support the delivery of renewable generation, HV substation works, and grid reinforcements, working closely with construction and engineering teams.

Due to increasing demand within our client’s Energy and Natural Resources division, we are seeking Intermediate & Senior Planners to support critical energy transition programmes across the UK. You’ll join a collaborative and high‑performing team delivering complex, high‑value infrastructure and energy projects in Aberdeen, Glasgow, or Stockton‑on‑Tees.

What You’ll Do:
  • Develop and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project
  • Establish baselines, WBS, and planning frameworks across major programmes
  • Conduct critical path and schedule risk analysis; model 'what‑if' scenarios
  • Track progress and performance using Excel, Power BI, and earned value metrics
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure accuracy
  • Present reports, S-curves, and dashboards to support informed decision‑making
  • Lead planning assurance and governance aligned with NEC/FIDIC contracts
  • Mentor junior planners and support capability development within the team
  • Provide planning expertise to integrated project controls environments
What You’ll Bring:
  • Proven experience in planning major energy, nuclear or utilities projects
  • Proficiency with Primavera P6, MS Project, Excel, and performance dashboards
  • Knowledge of EVM, critical path method (CPM), and risk‑based planning techniques
  • Familiarity with contract frameworks such as NEC
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills
  • Experience in regulated environments (e.g. nuclear, oil & gas, utilities) is advantageous
  • Eligible to work in the UK and travel to client sites as needed
What’s On Offer:
  • Work on some of the UK’s most transformational energy transition projects
  • Tailored development pathways and training in project controls
  • Competitive salary, benefits, and flexible working arrangements
  • Opportunities to progress in a business committed to net zero and sustainable development
