Permanent opportunity for an experienced Project Planner to lead programme development and controls on the Penrhos Substation project in Bangor, working under NEC contracts. Candidates must have proven experience delivering substation projects for National Grid, SSEN or SPEN.

We are hiring a Project Planner for a permanent role supporting a major substation infrastructure project in Penrhos (Bangor, Gwynedd). This is a strategic role within the UK energy sector, ideal for planners with strong Primavera P6 capability and a background in high-voltage substation delivery for National Grid, Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN), or SP Energy Networks (SPEN).

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, manage and optimise detailed project schedules using Primavera P6
• Track progress, critical paths and key milestones to ensure programme delivery
• Interface with engineering, construction and commercial teams to support accurate forecasting
• Conduct risk analysis and implement mitigation strategies
• Ensure planning activities are aligned with NEC contract requirements and client governance
• Provide regular reporting to stakeholders and project leadership teams

Essential Requirements

• Strong background as a Project Planner on substation or high-voltage transmission projects
• Demonstrable experience working on National Grid, SSEN or SPEN schemes (essential)
• Proficiency in Primavera P6
• Experience working under NEC contracts
• Excellent analytical and communication skills
• Ability to work on-site at Penrhos Substation, Bangor, Gwynedd
