As part of the Bioanalytics & Bioinformatics Project Management team at BioNTech, you will join a motivated team who provides project management support for cross-functional teams in a variety of projects to support the development of our technology platforms. This specific position is to support coordination between UK and German teams to further our individualized cancer vaccine programs, including piloting decentralized sequencing approaches with our clinical partners in the UK.

The holder of this position will align with different stakeholders spanning R&D and clinical teams to manage efficient communication and collaborations throughout the UK clinical genomics network.

Your main responsibilities are:
  • Cross-functional planning (incl. definition of scope, tasks, work packages and deliverables), coordination, and monitoring of project progress (incl. budget, timelines, quality, risk management)
  • Drive multiple interdisciplinary teams to ensure project scope and goals are delivered in desired time and quality
  • Establish and ensure efficient communication structures among internal and external project stakeholders and ensure information and content flow between interdisciplinary teams (incl. regular reporting to executive management)
  • Contribution to content work and hands-on support of Subject Matter Experts in individual work packages/specific areas
  • Project documentation (compile data and information relevant to the project) and reporting
  • Build, maintain, and manage high performing project team
What you have to offer:
  • Experience of project management tasks during studies or time in industry
  • A strong background in one or more of the following areas: Clinical next Generation Sequencing (NGS), diagnostic assay development, validation of methods, qualification of instruments
  • In-depth understanding of the UK clinical and healthcare system
  • Highly desirable: Hands on experience with development and use of NGS methods and the interface with bioinformatics analysis; previous working experience in regulated environments (e.g. GCP/GCLP or GMP)
  • Vendor management experience
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills
  • Self-starter with fast perception of new knowledge and efficient problem-solving skills with high personal commitment within a matrix and fast paced environment
  • Willingness to handle complex projects across multiple departments and with collaboration partners
  • Very good English skills, written and orally (German skills are also desirable but not essential)
  • Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry is desirable but not essential
