Overview

Join a growing leader in water & wastewater process solutions.

Our client provides industrial and commercial customers with independent, specialist water and wastewater process solutions and asset management services, tailored to meet diverse operational needs. As part of an ambitious growth strategy to secure major design & build, operation, and maintenance contracts, they are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of major capital projects — on time, on budget, and to specification.

The Role

As Project Manager, you will take full ownership for the planning, development, and delivery of engineering projects valued between £1-2 million, from initial design through to commissioning and handover. You'll work closely with internal teams, clients, and contractors to ensure projects meet all technical, financial, commercial, and safety objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and management to ensure successful project outcomes, focusing on health, safety, environmental, and customer satisfaction.
  • Control, monitor, report, and deliver works within agreed timescales and budgets, adhering to company processes.
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive project programmes including design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover.
  • Manage technical, financial, commercial, and site aspects of project delivery.
  • Prepare and review contracts and subcontracts, ensuring technical and commercial requirements are met.
  • Liaise with customers, suppliers, designers, subcontractors, and operators to ensure effective project coordination.
  • Ensure CDM compliance and promote technical robustness and process innovation.
  • Support tendering activities and provide project management input to design & build proposals.
  • Coach and mentor project engineers to ensure consistent delivery standards.
  • Provide clear, tailored progress reports and risk updates to stakeholders.
About You

We're looking for a highly motivated, hands-on Project Manager with proven experience delivering complex engineering projects in demanding environments.

You will have:

  • Demonstrable experience managing medium to large-scale design & build projects, ideally in the water or wastewater sector.
  • A degree in engineering (preferably mechanical) and recognised project management qualifications.
  • Strong experience managing CDM regulations, contractors, and on-site construction teams.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, flexible, and solutions-driven approach, with the ability to perform under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project.
  • The ability to travel as required.
Why Join?
  • Play a key role in delivering innovative and sustainable water & wastewater projects.
  • Join a supportive, growth-focused team with a strong project pipeline.
  • Gain exposure to major capital project delivery in a dynamic environment.
