As our new Software Project Manager within Software Service you'll have a strong focus on the implementation and installation projects. In this role you'll be the project-oriented leader, which directs, coordinates and leads a project team from the initial RFP (request for proposal), through the project initiation until the completion of the project. You'll be responsible for the oversight of the total implementation, by managing the software project and project team from creation of the Statement of Work, through management of resources, finance, Quality and Risk to Delivery and after care to the project team. The Software Project Manager is responsible for the delivery of JBT Marel projects, maintaining strong project KPIs in the process, as well as building a strong relationship with the customer. You'll plan and coordinate onsite sessions (workshop, Kick-off, Training) and activities with the customer based on the standard project delivery methodology, as well as the statement of work, which is part of the overall project plan set by the customer and JBT Marel in order to meet delivery dates. As JBT Marel Software is often part of a large delivery, the Software Project Manager works closely together with program managers and project managers from other Divisions. Sales Process
- Review and support validation of complex solution proposals
- Support pricing of new sales opportunities
- Deliver special projects assigned by manager
- Support sales on the sale of complex solutions
- Follow the project from sales phase through to delivery phase
- Handle commercial discussions post sale with the customer as required, aligned with sales colleagues
Delivery Process
- Accountable for the delivery of the Statement of Work per installation project
- Accountable for the delivery of the High Light Report as per preparation for project steering committee meetings
- Accountable for all JBT Marel Software project activities and deliverables
- Managing hardware aspects as relevant to the project delivery
- Adhere to the Marel Software project delivery methodology
- Plan project activities with the customer, in line with the overall project plan
- Build a strong relationship with the customer during the project phase
- Achieve project KPIs
- Deliver a solution that adds value to the customer and is within the scope of the contract
- Maintain a list of out of change requests and communicate that to the customer and the sales team
- Reporting the status of L1 and L2 projects under your stewardship to the regional software service manager
- Reporting the status of L3 project or L1+L2 issue project to the Project delivery board and Regional Software Service Director
- Escalate project issues to the Regional Software Service Manager / Regional Software Service Director
- Collaborate with the Manager of the Global Project Delivery Team or local software/hardware teams to ensure that the project is adequately staffed/executed for a successful delivery
Qualifications
- Hold a University degree or Professional Qualification in Project Management (Prince2, IPMA, PMI, PMBOK)
- Knowledge of principles and processes of project delivery
- Experience managing software and electrical project delivery
- At least 5 years of experience working in an engineering environment
- Have a minimum of NVQ Level 3 in relevant electrical discipline
- Have a minimum of HNC in relevant engineering discipline
- Good English skills, both written and verbal
- Willing to travel up to 50% of your time
- Ability to execute agreed tasks & deadlines against project performance criteria (KPI)
- Management and motivation of people, gaining commitment from both internal colleagues and customers
- Organized with excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience with and comfort working in multi-cultural, multi-discipline organization is an advantage
- Food processing knowledge is a considered a plus
- Basic knowledge of the JBT Marel Software products and processes or similar technologies/industries
- The ability to maintain a level head while under pressure
- Profound process change management is considered a plus
