Job summary

Trane Technologies, a world leader in sustainable climate solutions, is seeking a Projects Engineer to support sales, customers, and stakeholders in delivering HVAC and process cooling projects on site. You will develop business relationships, propose costed solutions, and ensure timely delivery.

The role requires coordinating equipment and subcontractors, producing plans, and communicating clearly with technical and non-technical audiences while maintaining safety and quality standards across

Qualifications

• Experience in project management with a commercial focus.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• Right to Work in the country and a UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Procure equipment and subcontracts for all projects under your control.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers and stakeholders.
• Manage communications with suppliers, sales teams and customers.
• Explain complex engineering activities to non-technical stakeholders.
• Attend site visits to advise on costings and quotes for installations.
• Coordinate project handovers and confirm scope and timeline.
• Produce detailed project plans and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Coordinate equipment parts and subcontractors to meet deadlines.
• Provide technical support to clients and sales engineers.
• Manage installations and commissioning of industrial cooling systems.
• Lead on-site engineers/teams to meet contract and safety standards.
• Identify resources and assign responsibilities.
• Manage project budgets and costs.
• Filter design flaws during the project.

Where Is The Work

Position Overview

The Projects Engineer role will support the sales teams, customers, and stakeholders in providing technical advice to develop and successfully implement products and service solutions to meet customer needs. The primary objective is to develop business development relationships with sales, customers and sub-contractors and deliver a high standard for projects in the HVAC and Process Cooling industry.

Key Responsibilities

Customer and Stakeholder Relationships

• Accountable for the procurement for all equipment and subcontracts works related to all projects in your control.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers, acting as a trusted point of contact.
• Accountable for in and outbound calls to suppliers, sales teams, customers, and stakeholders.
• Able to communicate complex technical engineering activities to non-technical stakeholders.
• High volume and fast paced so able to be flexible and adaptable during each project and keeping customers updated throughout.
• Attend site visits with Sales Engineers and stakeholders to advise and produce costings and quotes on installation projects.

Internal Controls And Processes

• Participate in review of new projects to finalise designs of new orders at commercial level.
• Attend project handover with the customer to confirm scope and timeline requirements.
• Produce detailed project plans and troubleshoot issues on technical engineering scenarios.
• Co-ordination of equipment parts and subcontractors to ensure required deadlines are achieved.
• Providing technical support to clients and sales engineers, co-ordinating projects
• Managing installations and commissioning of industrial cooling systems to ensure they are technically correct to an acceptable standard.
• Managing engineers/teams on site, ensuring contract agreements are met and health and safety standards are maintained.
• Identify resources and assign responsibilities.
• Financial control of projects including budgeting and costs
• Assist in filtering design flaws throughout the project.

Skills And Capabilities

• Knowledge of manufacturing industry an advantage
• Project Engineer background is an advantage.
• Project Management with commercial experience at intermediate level
• People and communication skills with a positive mindset
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and Computer-Aided Design (CAD)
• National travel and able to travel to other Countries when required.
• Right to Work status confirmed for Country of application.
• UK drivers’ licence
