Overview

Project Manager – Network Rail Station Upgrades, Bridges & Structures up to £40m – Birmingham & Exeter. Salary £50-65k+pkg + lodge + expenses. Location: Birmingham & Exeter. The role is for a Major Civil Rail Main Contractor, overseeing Civil Rail Projects in Birmingham for 6 months then moving to Exeter, mainly Station Upgrades, with other Network Rail Frameworks from £15-£40m, Bridges and Structures.

The Project Manager will require knowledge of tendering as well as project delivery experience within the Civil Rail environment.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the business results of the project
  • Project organisation and definition and regulation of responsibilities
  • Communicate all project requirements to the project team
  • Set and agree challenging stretch targets for all team members
  • Establish communications with Client/Representative
  • Organise the flow of information between the whole integrated project team members and third parties
  • Implement the management system within the project team
  • Lead HSQE management
  • Approve Project IMS Plan and appoint duties
  • Evaluate opportunities and risks
  • Organise planning management
  • Establish procurement deadlines
  • Review and revision of contract programme
  • Establish works packages
  • Cooperate in the awarding of contracts to sub contractors and suppliers
  • Contract management and supervision of project progress
  • Responsible for project controlling
  • Change management process
  • Identify and coordinate training requirements
  • Represent the project to internal stakeholders with period commercial and delivery reporting
  • Collaborate in the recruitment of staff
Qualifications
  • Degree/HND/HNC in Civil Engineering or similar
  • Previous experience as a Project Manager on Civil Rail projects
  • Project Management experience
  • Excellent leadership and tendering skills
  • Valid Full UK Driving licence
