About the role

Project Management of M25 Highways schemes, on behalf of the client (Connect Plus/National Highways) of renewal and/or improvement projects from design inception to close out following construction project types varying from structures, tunnels, highways and technology across the M25 network.

What you'll be doing
  • Responsible for a number of projects at different stages of the project lifecycle
    • End to end management of the project, to include scheme development and engagement through the life of the project with the asset team, designers, sub‑consultants, construction team and contractors
    • Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders to include but not limited to Planner, Construction Manager, Project QS, Asset and Designers.
    • Management of the P6 programme with the planning team, including identification of critical path activities
    • Commercial management of the project to include but not limited to cost plan, supply chain quotations, review and approval of invoices, forecasting, review of applications with the commercial team
    • Commission and manage internal and external resources in terms of quality, budget and programme.
    • Lead on Gateways and collaborative cost reviews with the Client and project team.
    • Adhere and apply the project governance procedure, including leading in presentations both virtual and in person with preparation of the supporting documentation to pass through project gateways
    • Routine reporting on project schedule / progress, risk and commercial status of the project internally and to the Client
  • Engage in the Collaborative M25 Community, including Balance Scorecards, forums and workshops as required
  • Support the delivery of the business's Sustainability activities and business plan objectives

Working arrangements
  • Travel required to CPS/supplier offices on the M25 network, three days a week.
  • Periodic requirement for site visits
  • Full Driving License
Who we're looking for
Qualifications / skills
  • Project Management Experience preferably supported by recognised Project Management qualification, APM PMQ, PRINCE2, APMP etc
  • Preference of minimum degree qualification and membership of appropriate professional institution or working towards such qualification
  • Broad skills, knowledge and understanding of Highway or Structures Engineering and associated design areas
  • Knowledge of CDM and other H&S and Environmental legislation related to Highway Engineering
  • Knowledge of the NEC (New Engineering Contract) and other relevant forms of contract
