MEICA Project Manager – Water Sector

Salary: Up to £75,000 per annum

Lead a £20 million MEICA project for a tier one contractor on South East Water, delivering high‑profile infrastructure works in Bewl that are crucial for the region. As a MEICA Project Manager, you’ll need to hit the ground running, bringing your expertise to ensure the project is delivered efficiently, safely, and within budget. We’re looking for someone who thrives in high‑stakes environments and has experience managing major water sector projects at scale.
Responsibilities
- Leading, planning, and delivering MEICA and commissioning activities for the £20 million project, ensuring all stages are executed flawlessly.
- Taking ownership of project delivery, ensuring it meets deadlines, remains within budget, and upholds the highest quality and safety standards.
- Developing and implementing MEICA strategies, ensuring all technical and commissioning requirements are met throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Managing design, construction, and commissioning teams, including subcontractors, to ensure smooth and efficient project execution.
- Liaising with clients, stakeholders, designers, and the supply chain to maintain strong relationships and ensure project alignment.
- Providing regular progress reports, ensuring compliance with industry standards, DSEAR regulations, and project‑specific requirements.
- Driving best practices in safety, quality, and environmental performance across all stages of the project.
- Overseeing the handover process, including O&M manuals and commissioning records, ensuring everything is delivered to client specifications.
What you’ll bring
- Extensive experience in MEICA design, delivery, and commissioning on large‑scale water/wastewater projects, ideally within the £10 million range.
- A strong electrical/mechanical engineering background with Authorised Person (AP) experience being highly desirable.
- In‑depth knowledge of hazardous areas/DSEAR and water industry standards.
- Proven ability to lead and manage projects in the water sector, with experience of Tier 1 contractor environments a definite advantage.
- A track record of managing high‑value projects with a focus on on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
- Relevant HNC/Degree or engineering apprenticeship in a related discipline.
- CSCS/ECS and SMSTS qualifications required.
- Blue Water Hygiene card & Thames Water Passport (training can be provided if not currently held).
- Professional membership (e.g. IET, IMechE, SOE) advantageous.
