Project Manager – Major Supermarket Refurbishment & Fit‑Out Projects

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a leading retail fit‑out contractor, delivering refurbishment and fit‑out projects across one of the UK’s top four supermarket chains. This is an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager with a strong retail background who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and understands the demands of delivering works within live trading stores.

Key Details
  • Location: Midlands or North East (London and North West applicants are not considered due to travel requirements)
  • Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
  • Start Date: January
Responsibilities

The role will lead and manage refurbishment and fit‑out schemes for a major supermarket client, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the client’s exacting standards. You will oversee multiple sites, coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, and client representatives, maintain high standards of health & safety, quality, and compliance, and ensure seamless communication across all stakeholders.

Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience delivering refurbishment or fit‑out projects for a major supermarket or blue‑chip retail client.
  • Strong background in retail construction, ideally with exposure to large‑scale grocery or convenience store environments.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and fast‑track programmes.
  • Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel between sites across the Midlands and North East.
