We are recruiting a Project Manager for our client in Hull. The client is a leading interior fit out main contractor who specialise in shopfitting projects across the UK. They have an excellent reputation and a history of producing quality, fast‑track fit‑out projects for some leading retail clients, many of whom are large food retailers such as Waitrose, M&S, Co‑op, WHSmith, Sainsbury’s etc. They offer flexible, hybrid working but you must be willing to travel to visit clients and projects across the UK. The Project Manager must have experience of running interior fit‑out projects of various sizes preferably in the shopfitting sector. Excellent organisational and communication skills are required, as is the ability to manage a varied workload and work well in a fast‑paced, reactive environment. This key position requires an organised and proactive approach. You will need to work unsupervised, be effective in managing your own time and workloads, and travel and flexibility will be required as projects can be nationwide. You will oversee the planning, coordination and control of projects assigned to you from inception to the completion of all snagging. You will control project timescales, costs and progress and keep the Senior Management Team informed.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor appropriate labour and site management specific to the project
  • Control and analyse labour costs alongside the QS
  • Attend and contribute to client and contract meetings
  • Collate, manage and sign off snagging works completed by project support team
  • Record variations from site and liaise with the QS team
  • Responsible for site health and safety from pre‑contract stage through to project completion
  • Promote commercial awareness for on‑site projects
  • Liaise with supply chain team to ensure compliance and effective site set‑up
  • Ensure quality of workmanship in line with company expectations
  • Deliver projects to agreed programme of works
  • Monitor programme of works and identify shortfalls and solutions
Required skills and experience
  • Excellent time‑keeping and ability to manage own workload and meet deadlines
  • A passion for delivering a professional service and quality product
  • Friendly, proactive with good organisational skills and a high attention to detail
  • Good IT skills – Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Project
  • Professional qualification in project management desirable
  • Experience of project‑managing interior fit‑out projects ideally in the shopfitting sector
