Description

Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity to join our Grid Automation team as a Project Manager with a proven track record in executing customer projects. Supporting and strengthening our team in Hitachi Energy UK, ideally someone with High & Medium voltage substations experience, you will be responsible for managing the entire project, representing Hitachi Energy's commercial and contractual interests, and managing all stakeholders (internal and external).

The Project Management team in Hitachi Energy UK is expanding, and this role in Grid Automation (high and Medium voltage substations Protection and control) is suited for someone with experience in executing end-user facing projects in the Transmission and distribution market with customers including National Grid, SSE, Scottish Power, EPCs, and DNOs.

Skilled at planning and forecasting activities using tools like SAP and Primavera P6/Microsoft Projects, you will be responsible for planning and managing the project from inception to the end of the warranty period, including representing Hitachi Energy's commercial and contractual interests and managing negotiations in line with FIDIC, NEC 3/NEC 4.

How you'll make an impact:

  • Implement projects within Substation Automation.
  • Manage assigned projects from initial handover from Sales to successful completion of on-site work.
  • Coordinate an international project team and oversee efficient use of allocated resources.
  • Embrace an open and proactive approach to communication to ensure maximum customer satisfaction as the key point of contact.
  • Manage the customer contract, taking full responsibility for commercial and contractual aspects of the project.

Background:

  • Delivering solutions in a Power Transmission projects environment.
  • Engineering background in Electrical and Control systems/Computer networks.
  • Based in UK Mainland, willing to work in Stone 3 days a week.
  • HNC/HND/Degree with minimum 3-5 years experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel to clients and partners within the UK (circa 10% of time) and to factory units within Europe as required.
  • Chartered Engineer or Professional certified Project Manager.
  • Clean UK driving license.
