For the BBC to maintain its industry leading reputation, there are multiple business teams working hard right across the organisation to make sure projects are delivered on time and within budget so that our audiences get the very best from all of our BBC services.
We're the team at the heart of transformation at the BBC, leading major projects, supporting our project and change community, and driving business improvement. As an apprentice you'll work on exciting initiatives, help improve how we deliver for audiences, and collaborate with teams from production to strategy. You'll gain hands‑on experience, be supported by a friendly team, and have the chance to make a real impact.
As a Project Manager Apprentice with the BBC Transformation Office team, you'll work with experienced professionals and contribute to impactful projects.
As part of your daily activities you may:
You’ll study for your industry recognised apprenticeship qualification, learning both on the job at the BBC and off the job with our chosen education provider. The academic study involves attending instructor‑led workshops, tutorial sessions, practical and library‑based research, presentations, group work and real‑world simulated projects.
The apprenticeship programme is structured across 3 learning levels:
The programme concludes with an integrated End Point Assessment (EPA).
During your apprenticeship, you'll work towards a BSc (Hons) Level 6 degree in Project Management, alongside earning the APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) – a respected industry certification. Upon successful completion, you'll be eligible to apply for full membership with the Association for Project Management (APM). This qualification opens doors to roles such as Project Coordinator, Business Assistant, or Business Coordinator, both within the BBC and across other organisations.

For candidates under the of 19 years at 8th September 2026: To complete the apprenticeship, you must have achieved Maths and English GCSE at Grade 4/C or above or 5 (Scotland) at C or Functional Skills Level 2 or equivalent qualification. If you have not achieved these qualifications by the start of your apprenticeship, you will be required to achieve Functional Skills Level 2 before the end of your apprenticeship when you take your end‑point assessment.
