Job summary

A public service organization in Dorchester is seeking a Community Partnerships Programme Analyst to support project management and delivery within the Community Partnerships Transformation Programme. The ideal candidate will have experience in local government and project management methodologies. This role requires hybrid working, with 2 days on-site per week. Competitive remuneration of up to £300 per day is offered.

Qualifications

Role: Temporary

Location: Dorchester

Pay: Up to £300 per day

Description

To support the development, management and successful delivery of critical analysis and project management of key projects within Dorset Council's Community Partnerships Transformation Programme. This is not an IT Analyst role and you must have previous Town/Parish Council experience.

Key responsibilities include delivering projects relating to Double Devolution to Town and Parish Councils, financial provision to Dorset's Voluntary and Community Sector, leading the development of options papers and business cases for large, high‑risk projects, evaluating options and establishing project design as projects move from development to delivery, representing the Council and/or the Council's Transformation Office at stakeholder events, keeping up to date with current relevant policy and legislation, building and managing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, undertaking technical activities in project planning and production, inputting to project management systems, and leading meetings with Councillors, businesses and residents on work‑related issues. The duties are not restrictive, and the post holder may, on occasion, undertake other duties that do not substantially change the nature of the post.

Qualifications & Experience

Previous Business Analyst experience and some Project Management knowledge; local government experience; an understanding of best practice in managing the delivery of projects, including formal frameworks and methodologies such as PRINCE2, MSP and Agile PM; experience of motivating and developing relationships with stakeholders and within project teams to achieve objectives.

  • 37 hours a week
  • Hybrid – preferentially 2 days a week on site in Dorchester
