An environmental project management organization in Birmingham is seeking a Project Manager for the Building Retrofit Pilot programme. You’ll lead project management activities to ensure timely, on-budget delivery while promoting sustainability efforts in the West Midlands. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in project management and stakeholder engagement, ideally related to energy or net zero initiatives.

The West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) is leading the way through Energy Capital’s Net Zero Homes and Communities programme, supporting delivery of innovative, practical projects that will help decarbonise homes and neighbourhoods across our region.
We are delivering a number of high‑profile initiatives – including the Local Net Zero Accelerator (LNZA), the Net Zero Neighbourhoods programme, and the Buildings Retrofit Pilot. Together, these programmes are testing and scaling the solutions needed to reach net zero at pace.
In this role, you’ll provide project management and leadership from the early stages of project design through to implementation, delivery and close. You’ll help turn ambition into action, ensuring projects are delivered on time, on budget, and monitoring and advising on Quality Assurance to a high standard, working collaboratively with local authorities, contractors, and other partners.
Please note this role is being offered a fixed‑term contract until 30th September 2028.
The location for this role is Summer Lane with at least 2 days a week spent in the office.
