Job summary

Fortem, part of the Willmott Dixon Group, requires two Project Managers to oversee an accelerated retrofit and refurbishment programme on four high-rise blocks in central Bristol. Roles are permanent, Monday–Friday, 08:00–16:30, with interviews asap and offers expected August/September.

Key duties include leading project teams, managing risks, and delivering high-quality capital retrofit works to agreed budgets and timescales, within live environments and with external façade works experience.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering large-scale retrofit and refurbishment on high-rise buildings.
• End-to-end project management in live environments with external façades, roofing and structural works.
• Pre-construction and construction experience with health, safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities

Job description

Fortem, part of the Willmott Dixon Group specialise in capital and retrofit programmes within the social housing sector and are specialists in works to high rise / high risk buildings.We require 2 Project Managers to oversee an accelerated retrofit cladding replacement & refurbishment programme to four high rise blocks in central Bristol.This is a permanent role, Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:30.Located within easy commute of Bristol, we envisage making offers to the successful candidate August/September (interviews will be carried out asap).

The Customer

On behalf of Bristol City Council, the four high-rise projects will be wrapped in either tube and fitting scaffold or mast climbers, to enable access for the removal and replacement of both existing render systems and brick slips. Multiple MEP services will be removed and reinstated progressively with the façade replacement works. Roof level cappings and lightning protection systems will be enhanced and replaced during the project. Enhancement & refreshment of the existing landscaping & ground works will also form part of the Fortem works.

Duties and Responsibilities

Each Project Manager will be accountable for two of the high-rise tower blocks & successfully managing project teams and works partners, to deliver compliant capital & retrofit works to the highest quality standards, specification, budget and within agreed timescales.

Ideally, the Project Managers will have demonstrable experience in a similar role undertaking retrofit & refurbishment works on high rise buildings, including façade replacement.

• Provide leadership and vision to promote the Fortem brand within our chosen market place
• Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety and environmental management.
• Lead and monitor project strategies to achieve the company’s sustainability objectives.
• Identify and manage commercial risk
• Develop excellent relationships with client representatives, consultants, and other stakeholders.
• Develop excellent relationships with the supply chain.
• Recruit, train, develop, motivate retain high quality Fortem staff to deliver high levels of service delivery.
• Provide technical support and advice to the client and project team.
• Ensure a robust strategy is in place for dealing with complaints and managing defects.
• Support our commitment to sustainability.
• Ensure robust strategy for delivering quality throughout project lifecycle with Zero defects as a target on handover.

What You Will Need

Essential

• Experience of delivering large scale Construction projects, through subcontract /supply chain arrangements.
• Experience of project managing multiple projects with experience in works to high rise / high risk buildings including external façade systems, roofing, fire remediation and fire protections systems, structural works , groundworks, concrete repairs, internal refurbishment etc.
• Extensive end to end project management experience gained in a similar environment.
• Pre-construction and construction experience.
• UK driving license
• SMSTS & knowledge of safe systems of work.
• Scaffold inspection
• Role Appropriate CSCS card
• First Aid at work certificate
• First Aid at work certificate Temporary Works Coordinator
• Temporary Works Co-ordinator CertDesirable
• Experience of retrofit projects delivered to PAS2035 or similar standards ideally.
• Social Housing experience
• Experience of working in live environments
