Job summary

Edwards is seeking a Project Manager - A&D to manage day-to-day operations of complex NPI projects ($5-10M+) ensuring delivery to specifications, timescales and budgets, with adherence to company procedures. You will report to the Programmes Manager.

You will coordinate cross-functional planning, allocate resources, monitor progress and escalate issues to keep projects on track, while maintaining strong communication with stakeholders and ensuring timely decision making across the organisation.

Qualifications

• A good Engineering/Scientific degree is required.
• Project management qualification is desirable (Prince2 or APM or equivalent).
• 5 years in product development in high-technology environments, with 3 years in PM capacity.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects on time, to spec and on budget.
• Ability to generate resource plans and drive schedule adherence while remaining flexible.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operational aspects of complex NPI projects ($5-10M+) to ensure delivery within specifications, timescales and budgets.
• Create cross-functional project plans covering all tasks to deliver the project per the PCP.
• Plan projects and agree timescales with the Programme Manager.
• Ensure required resources and skills are available to deliver milestones and adhere to dates.
• Highlight issues early to Programme Manager and escalate as needed.
• Lead the project team with a central, visible plan and regular progress reporting.

Job description

As a Project Manager - A&D, your mission is to manage the day-to-day operational aspects of complex NPI projects ($5-10M+) to ensure that they are delivered according to agreed specifications, timescales and budgets and that company procedures are followed in the execution of these projects. You will report to the Programmes Manager.

You will

• Ensure the project meets its performance and timescale objectives as defined by the Master Specification.
• Create cross-functional project plan encompassing all the tasks required to deliver the project in adherence to the product commercialisation process (PCP).
• Plan projects and agree timescale with the Programme Manager.
• Ensure all the required resource and skills are made available to deliver the project and its milestones and ensure adherence to agreed dates.
• Highlight resource and/or planning issues in advance to Programme Manager.
• Lead the Project team's activities through a centrally visibly plan, regularly reporting progress, dealing with exceptions, and escalating as appropriate.
• Ensure that the project plan is monitored and any deviance is mitigated by immediate intervention or is escalated to Programme Manager.

To succeed, you will need

• A good Engineering/Scientific degree
• Project management qualification would be desirable. Preferably Prince 2, APM certified or equivalent.
• 5 years involvement in the process of product development in a high technology environment, with 3 years' experience in a Project Management capacity.
• A proven ability to manage complex projects - a strong understanding of delivering products on time, to specification and on budget.
• A proven ability to generate resource plans and drive schedule adherence whilst maintaining the flexibility required to react to rapidly changing customer and company needs
• Must be a good communicator and have excellent fluency in spoken and written English.
• Strong communication skills, organisational awareness, and impact.
• Influencing, communication, presentation and negotiating skills, both internally and externally
• Ability to make things happen at all levels by seeing the need to communicate, elevate and facilitate.

Job location

This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, allowing you to split your time between working remotely and being on-site at our office in Bristol, United Kingdom (GB).
