Job summary

Quanex is seeking an experienced hands-on Project Manager to lead cross-functional projects from concept to closure, covering IT, operations and commercial change. You will manage timelines, budgets, resources and stakeholder communications across multiple concurrent projects.

The role requires delivering projects in line with PMO governance, with a focus on business change, IT initiatives and M&A support where applicable. A manufacturing background and relevant certifications are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, IT or a related field preferred.
• Experience managing manufacturing IT and business change projects.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules and cross-functional teams.
• Certifications in Prince2, Prosci and Agile preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end project management for business change, IT and M&A projects.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets and resource allocations.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams across Engineering, Production, IT and Finance.
• Monitor progress, identify risks and implement mitigations.
• Manage vendor relationships to deliver projects successfully.
• Track KPIs and report status to senior leadership.
• Engage stakeholders and maintain clear communication.
• Lead project meetings and ensure governance per the PMO.
• Capture lessons learned and close projects effectively.

Overview

We are seeking an experienced hands‑on Project Manager with a background in business and IT change to lead cross‑functional projects from concept through to closure and lessons learnt. The ideal candidate will manage timelines, budgets, resources and stakeholder communication. The role will cover a wide range of projects including IT, Operational, Commercial etc. and will involve the management of a number of projects concurrently.

Main Tasks & Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end project management for business change, M&A and IT projects.
• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
• Coordinate cross‑functional teams including Engineering, Production, Warehousing, Quality, IT, Supply Chain, Maintenance and Finance.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and implement mitigation strategies.
• Manage vendor relationships where required for the successful delivery of the project.
• Track KPIs and provide regular status reports to senior leadership.
• Ensure the stakeholders are engaged with the project and kept informed noting that these may be senior leadership within the business.
• Lead project meetings and maintain clear communication among all stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are closed effectively and lessons learnt are captured.
• Ensure projects meet the governance standards set out by the PMO.

Key Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in business, IT or another relevant field is preferred.
• Proven experience of project management experience in a manufacturing environment including IT and business change projects.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules and cross‑functional teams.
• Certified in Prince2, Prosci and Agile is preferred.
