Project Manager - £10M Industrial Unit (Manchester)

About the Role

Our client, a reputable regional building contractor, are seeking an experienced and driven Construction Project Manager to lead the delivery of a new £10 million industrial unit in Manchester. The successful candidate will take full ownership of the project from pre‑construction through to handover, ensuring it is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all phases of the construction project lifecycle
  • Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, consultants, and suppliers
  • Monitor project schedules, cost control, and progress reports
  • Chair site and client meetings; manage stakeholder expectations
  • Oversee health & safety compliance and risk management on site
  • Ensure adherence to project specifications, drawings, and contracts
  • Liaise closely with the commercial team on procurement and variations
Requirements
  • Proven track record managing industrial/commercial construction projects (ideally £5M+)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a Project Manager or Senior Site Manager role
  • Strong knowledge of UK construction regulations and CDM
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills
  • Relevant qualifications in Construction Management or Engineering (HNC/HND/Degree)
  • SMSTS, CSCS (Black or White Card), and First Aid certifications
Desirable
  • Experience delivering steel‑frame industrial units
  • Previous work with logistics or manufacturing sector clients
