Job summary

Actemium Automation Hampshire is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead automation and engineering projects in the water sector. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, align with customers and partners, and drive delivery safely, to spec and on time.

You will plan, monitor and report progress, manage budgets and change control, and ensure compliance with technical, quality, health, safety and environmental requirements across projects.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

Waterlooville | Permanent, Full‑time Package: £60,000 per annum + Bonus + EV Car Scheme + Share Scheme + Healthcare + Pension + Benefits. Actemium Automation Hampshire is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of automation and engineering projects within the water industry. You’ll coordinate multidisciplinary teams and work closely with customers and delivery partners to ensure projects are completed safely, to specification and within agreed timescales and budgets.

The Role

You’ll manage projects from planning and design through to installation, commissioning and handover. Working across customer and site teams, you’ll provide clear leadership, monitor progress and help ensure project delivery meets technical, commercial and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, manage and deliver water industry automation and engineering projects throughout their lifecycle.
• Develop and maintain project programmes, budgets, forecasts and delivery plans.
• Coordinate internal engineering teams, subcontractors, suppliers and other project stakeholders.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and put appropriate actions in place.
• Manage customer communications, expectations, project meetings and progress reporting.
• Ensure project work meets contractual, technical, quality and health, safety and environmental requirements.
• Oversee project documentation, change control, costs and commercial reporting.
• Support installation, testing, commissioning and handover activities at customer sites.
• Build effective working relationships with customers and delivery partners across the water sector.

What You’ll Bring

• Proven experience managing engineering, automation or electrical projects.
• Experience delivering projects in the water industry or a related process industry.
• Understanding of project planning, cost control, risk management and change control.
• Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and manage competing priorities.
• Strong communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills.
• A practical, proactive approach to resolving delivery challenges.
• Commitment to safe working practices and high-quality project delivery.
• Willingness to travel to customer and project sites as required.

Desirable

• Experience with control systems, instrumentation or industrial automation.
• Knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes and industry standards.
• A project management qualification or relevant technical qualification.
• Experience working with frameworks, principal contractors or multiple delivery partners.
