Job summary

A renewable energy firm is seeking a Project Manager to oversee the design and introduction of new products. This role requires management of whole lifecycle projects and collaboration with various departments. Ideal candidates will have a background in mechanical engineering and experience with 3D CAD software. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Project Manager, ideally with Design/Product Development background.
  • Experience with Commercial PV Systems is ideal.
  • Proficient in reading engineering drawings.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver results on time.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the design, prototyping, and development of new products.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of projects from bid to delivery.
  • Produce detail project plans and schedules.
  • Liaise with clients and maintain progress updates.

Overview

ROLE - Project Manager

SALARY - £25,000- £35,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

TYPE - Permanent

Location - Cornwall

My client designs and manufactures specialist products and systems within the Renewable Energy sector. They are looking for a Project Manager to join their team near Cornwall on a permanent basis.

Qualifications
  • Experienced Project Manager, ideally with a background in Design / Product Development
  • Ideally experience working on Commercial PV Systems
  • Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • PRINCE2 or a similar Project Management qualification would be beneficial but not required
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including sheet metal, fabrication, welded parts and machining
  • Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo etc.
  • Knowledge of a variety of materials - sheet metal, injection moulded plastics etc.
  • Be able to read engineering drawings
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at once and deliver results on time and budget
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team
Responsibilities
  • Lead and Project Manage the Design, Prototyping, Development, Testing and Introduction of new products
  • Identifying and managing full lifecycle projects, from bid generation to manufacture and delivery
  • Successfully delivering projects on time and on budget
  • Working on full lifecycle design projects
  • Designing and developing new products
  • Producing detailed works schedules, resource and projects plans
  • Liaising with clients as required keeping them up to date with project progress
  • Working with design, purchasing and production departments
  • Presenting project plans and reports to management
  • Reporting progress, managing risks and responding to issues
  • Maintaining technical documentation as required
  • Working in a small, multidisciplined team
