Role Overview

As a Project Manager, you will lead and manage a variety of refurbishment projects across the UK. You will be responsible for delivering projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while coordinating multiple sites and project teams. This position involves nationwide travel, managing projects for multiple clients, and representing the company at all levels.

Project Delivery
  • Plan, programme, and manage all aspects of refurbishment projects from initial enquiry through to handover.
  • Lead site teams and subcontractors to ensure efficient and effective project execution.
  • Monitor day-to-day progress and manage project budgets to ensure commercial viability.
  • Oversee the quality of work, ensuring compliance with project specifications, company standards, and regulations.
  • Produce and maintain progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare and manage handover documentation, including O&M manuals.
Pre-Contract and Planning
  • Conduct site surveys, define project scope, and assist with cost estimation and procurement.
  • Chair internal pre-start meetings and external client meetings.
  • Prepare method statements, contract programmes, and site layouts.
  • Monitor information flow and manage technical documentation.
Health & Safety
  • Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and company health & safety policies.
  • Maintain safe working environments on all projects, liaising with H&S advisors as needed.
Client and Stakeholder Management
  • Act as the primary client contact, maintaining strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Represent senior management at project sites and meetings.
  • Address client queries and resolve project issues promptly.
People Management
  • Provide clear leadership, delegate responsibilities, and motivate project teams.
  • Monitor individual and team performance, encouraging professional development.
  • Foster open communication, teamwork, and a positive working culture.

Skills and Experience Required
  • Minimum of 4 years' experience in project management, preferably in refurbishment, interior fit‑out, or construction.
  • Relevant construction‑related degree or equivalent qualification.
  • Strong technical knowledge of refurbishment works, energy/environment projects, and planned preventative maintenance.
  • Fully IT literate: MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, programmes, and project resources effectively.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide at short notice.
