A leading construction firm is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee a significant high-rise accommodation project in Sunderland. You will be responsible for delivering the project on time and within budget while ensuring high-quality standards and compliance with regulations. Ideal candidates will have a proven record in similar projects and hold relevant qualifications. This is a temp-to-perm role offering £320 - £350 per day.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a Project Manager on high-rise residential/accommodation projects.
  • Relevant qualification in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
  • Hold necessary certifications like SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead all aspects of the high-rise construction project.
  • Develop, maintain, and drive the project programme and schedule.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, clients, and authorities.
  • Manage project finances, monitor costs, and handle variations.
  • Champion health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Implement quality control procedures.
  • Manage on-site teams and specialist contractors.

Project Manager

Are you an experienced Project Manager with a proven track record in high-rise residential or accommodation schemes?

You will be responsible for the successful delivery of a significant high-rise accommodation scheme in Sunderland, overseeing the project from the current stage through to completion.

Start Date: January / February 2026

Contract Rate: £320 - £350 per day (CIS), dependent on experience.

Contract type: Temp to perm

Key Responsibilities:
  • Project Leadership: Managing and leading all aspects of the high-rise construction project, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Programme Management: Developing, maintaining, and driving the project programme and schedule.
  • Stakeholder Management: Coordinating and communicating effectively with architects, engineers, subcontractors, clients, and local authorities.
  • Budget Control: Managing project finances, monitoring costs, handling variations, and ensuring strict adherence to the budget.
  • HSE Compliance: Championing health, safety, and environmental excellence, ensuring strict compliance with all regulations and standards, particularly for high-rise buildings.
  • Quality Assurance: Implementing and overseeing quality control procedures to ensure a high-quality finished product.
  • Team Oversight: Managing on-site teams and specialist contractors.
Requirements:
  • Experience as a Project Manager on high-rise residential/accommodation construction projects (e.g., apartments, student accommodation).
  • Qualifications: A relevant qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid and Temporary Works.
